Purchased a new phone, my old LG G6 being fine for me but I have a nagging feeling that somehow it is 'responsible' for my symptoms as I've had it since noticing all the issues that affect us cause problems (if you get what I mean) - typically though the SIM tray on the G6 snapped on this day so now it wont detect my simcard so I cant go back to it!
Notebookcheck says its pwm free: https://www.notebookcheck.net/Motorola-Moto-G-5G-Plus-Smartphone-Review-A-battery-giant-with-a-90Hz-display.484468.0.html
(I asked the question if its showing there)
its a Motorola G 5G plus and it is giving me some symptoms, I can feel my eye muscles straining when I use it, its not as bad as my work phone which is PWM on OLED at about 240hz (galaxy A6) which I only use for seconds at a time when I have to, but I got this as it said PWM free, is this flicker below not PWM, another type of flicker? - I did have a migraine the other day though and maybe im still in the 'post migraine' stage but this screen doesnt seem nice to look at, I had hoped a 90hz refresh rate and no PWM would be a good screen for flicker sensitive people.
Its very bright when then lines are not showing though 🙁 I have tried some filter apps but they're not working so well
Anyway at 1/4000 I see this on the screen at around 75% brightness and lower on the device:
EDIT: so when I raise the brightness these lines go away.
I tried a similar test on my G6 which has PWM at 2000ish hz <35% brightness and saw similar at other shutter speeds.
The motorola doesnt show the lines at lower shutter speeds though, so does that that mean it has pwm at 4000+ hz maybe??
