I have an old HP notebook (probably from 2011 or 2012) with windows 7, which I used without problems at the time. I haven't turned it on for years.
Since I seem to tolerate PCs with windows 7 better than 10, I would like to reset it to factory settings and test it. Now the question is this: would you do the windows 7 updates? I don't even remember if there is SP1 already installed. Are w7 updates safe or can they create problems like w10's?

    Sofista90 It almost certainly has SP1 already. There was also a platform update but I never installed it. I also stopped installing updates into it as well, though I did manually disable SMB1 and RDP. Do your testing first, then you can test again with updates if you want to, though no more are being released.
