I did notice for a while that drinking a glass of red wine or two a night helped with my migraines when I was getting a lot of them - I presumed that it helped me relax and worry less about waking up in pain, and therefore resulted in a more restful sleep.
However this is not a long-term solution and eventually it will cause more problems than eye strain, so I have curbed the regular drinking. I can completely sympathise though - absolutely anything that works can seem very appealing.
