Hi, I've been using Windows for years normally without worrying about updates or the like. However, something happened to my computer last month to where I started getting eye strain and foggy brain, problems which I also had when using PWM monitors, but not since switching to a DC monitor. The monitor that I'm using is one that I've had for 6 years (Acer R240HY), so I'm sure there's nothing wrong with the monitor itself. I also plug in my MacBook Air to the monitor as a placebo, as I feel perfectly fine with that combination. As far as my main desktop though, I haven't changed anything in my setup (hardware or software) for about 6-8 months, so I'm confused as to why this is suddenly becoming a problem now. I even downgraded to multiple older versions of Windows and Nvidia drivers that I know used to work for me a couple of years ago, but I still get the same brain fog. What could have changed in my settings in the last month that caused this?

Side note, don't know if this is helpful or not, but when I uninstall all Nvidia drivers I do feel better, but not as good as when I plug in my Macbook. It's worst when I have the Nvidia driver installed (GTX 1070). But this was never a problem before last month.

I've had similar experiences. And sadly I've never been able to find an explanation...

    AgentX20 🙁

Gonna do a clean install tomorrow, maybe I ticked off a setting that messed everything up (even though I never touched any setting related to display until after it became a problem).

@devilgrove , Have any large files or a large number of small files came onto the hard disk lately? This could have an impact, accordingly to my experience.

ravipra don't think so, storage has been pretty similar in size over the last few months. When I fresh install Windows though everything will be cleared so I'll see if that makes a difference.

Clean installed an older version of Windows, didn't help. I might just sell my entire desktop and buy a MacBook Pro at this point, I've been spending way too much time trying to figure it out.

devilgrove Don't rush into that. Most people here don't like Apple products anymore. I'd recommend you look at devices in person if you are able to. Apple products can be found at various retailers, don't buy one sight unseen.
