Hello! I've just recently discovered this forum. I had the same PC since 2013 and the same 2 monitors pretty much since then, I've always noticed my 'main' monitor (which was the newer one) always made my eyes more strained and made me feel 'weird' if I used it for anything other than gaming for too long. But I think having the other monitor gave me 'breaks' which made it not as noticeable. Now that I upgraded my PC, only 1 has the right connection (HDMI) as I used to use DVI cables.
Since switching to the new PC and using just the one monitor, I've noticed a lot more eye strain and feeling 'out of it'. I want to get a new monitor anyway as I can't stand just having 1 😛 But I'm looking for suggestions of a good monitor, 24", that reduces eye strain effectively. With the one I'm using now (BenQ rl2460ht) it seems impossible to balance colours/brightness/contrast in a way that is comfortable. I've tried using the monitor settings and the nvidia settings, but getting it to an alright point leaves most colours washed out.
CONTEXT- for the past 10 or so years I've had problems with feeling 'out of it' (never been diagnosed as, but similar to what people say is derealisation, kind of like the feeling you get when you are over tired but its constant for me). I've learnt to live with it, but doesn't make it any less uncomfortable when it gets worse due to doing what is my hobby, which is gaming. I do feel like its worse when I read on tech, but gaming or watching videos isn't as bad.
Thankyou for your help 🙂
