Gurm So I've played around with patching my right eye (I'm left eye dominant) and it DEFINITELY helps. Like, instant reduction in strain, ability to look at more things. I wonder if we all don't have some kind of neurological issue here which is preventing proper eye teaming for certain displays?
What's the protocol for training? I know - prism glasses and this and that. But if we just have a proper set of eyeglasses and a willingness to cover one eye, how do we exercise and get progress without seeing a weird specialist in New York?
This is amazing. I am not alone, their is more people that cover-one-training works on!
It’s almost three years ago i started to cover one eye and train so I could use both my eyes. Today my progress is around 90%, which is really good. I didn’t know before the training what was going to happen. My protocol was, about one hour a day with a bad screen, both eyes open and one eye covered, for my it was my right eye, the non-dominant eye. That was what felt good and worked for me, so i kept on doing it. I put a paper over the right glass of a pair of gaming glasses.
No neurological issue I think, we must reprogram our brain, for me it’s hard to find any other explanation after seeing so many eye-specials, in combination with my progress.
If you can come to Sweden i can help you with training, i have almost three years experience of that, i doubt that you find someone else better!
ensete I have been patching daily for almost a week now, roughly 1-2 hours a day (I take frequent breaks) and yesterday I did some Win10 usage WITHOUT the patch, and noticed a very significant decrease in symptoms.
Good news!
ensete I intend to keep patching my right eye for the foreseeable future and see if this trend continues. Mike on this forum said it took him a few weeks. I asked my eye doctor is there was any risk in patching and he said as long as I took breaks and limited my patching to 3- hours a day, it shouldn't cause issues.
I have also asked a eye-doctor about cover one eye, no problems as long as you take breaks and so on. For me it was three weeks, for you it can be a day or a year, just keep on training and keep us posted with your progress.
ensete Crazy that a nickle eye patch has offered more relief than the $10,000+ I have spend on other tests and "cures". But to me this proves that the root issue is something the way these displays are being rendered is impacting our ability to properly focus on the screen, triggering a response in the muscles in our head to try and move our eyes around to try and accomplish binocular focus. That causes these muscles to tense, which I know will impinge on nerves and cause migraines.
Reprogram your brains, as simple as that.
ryans I am glad to see patching working -- it points to a BVD. You should all check our @martin excellent blog posts on BVD, his is an esophoria. The "training" is called vision therapy which can help train the eyes & brain, along with prism glasses to correct the eye misalignment. You need to find an optometrist to diagnose this…most will not. If the OD offers vision therapy or prism lenses, that is a good sign they are aware of these conditions. Most optometrists will correct your eyesight only, but not your overall vision. I have 20/20 eyesight with no need for any glasses/contact lenses.
I have visit Martin in Prague, he have trained with a brock string for a long time and done some progress. And it was thanks to Martin i started to train with one eye. But i think i have made much more progress i much less time. Just saying. I hade done LASIK and have almost perfect eyesight.
weasley Basicly a while ago I went to my optician to look for new glasses, as my glasses seemed to worsen my symtoms.
She noticed my right eye was a bit slower and we did a test that is pretty much mentioned on this website: https://heteroforie.webnode.cz/l/heterophoria-test-at-home/ , its exactly the same.
I noticed that the red cross/plus was out of the circle, by quite a bit, so she referred me to go to an actual eye doctor to do some further testing.
As I get there and let him test my eye he basicly does a quick test with a pen for me to follow and thats all, he said its not that bad and I shouldn't worry about it.
It sounds like the thing i have. I think it’s called a lazy-eye.
