Had the same issue with Dell XPS 15 9500.
Dithering.exe gives no any visual difference at all.
Below steps helped me a lot:
- I realized that reducing color saturation using Intel UHD Graphics Control panel gives significant eyestrain release. (Looks like less saturated colors affecting dithering somehow). Try to adjust brightness and contrast here also.
Pre-installed updated Intel Graphics command center was giving me black screen when trying to adjust color Saturation.
You need to download UHD Graphics Control panel from Microsoft store and uninstall Intel Graphics command center.
- I have installed Night shift extension to Microsoft edge to reduce too harmful white color background effect causing significant eyestrain also. ( Feels better when I read text on a white background surfing web). Using black color and adjusting color temperature changes bright white to light grey .
But still cant find same options for Microsoft Word and pdf documents. ( Bright white gives eyestrain even I reduce brightness both ways)
