Could this topic or a general info that covering one eye "should" be tested by most people posting here be pinned to the top?
I think it is relevant for so many or even most users here.
Even if it is not a perfect fix for most of us it still can help people significantly.
It hasn’t been a practice of this board to sticky any threads, except the welcome post, and only for new users.
What we may be able to do is create a new tag related to binocular vision to make finding information about this topic easier.
You might @ the administrator, Slacor, for more insight on this.

For general info, currently the Wiki is the method to do that.
I'm always open to (on a different thread) discuss ideas on how to make the wiki more approachable or usable as well.

I have never even noticed the wiki which is most likely my fault, but I would say that a pinned thread has a far better visibility for "blind" people like myself.

As it stands, pinning does not work very well for the format of this forum. As discussions are pinned, it makes the forum increasingly more "static" for new or guest users as they are always at the top. This pushes active discussions farther down.
This takes away from the true effective power of this forum: ephemeral, conversational discussions that lead to useful discoveries. But then, other discussions come up that can hide that useful information.
This is the "document the solution" problem that has intermittently come up, and it is important to solve.
The wiki is designed to allow anyone to contribute, allow review of those changes and most importantly, archive information in the case this forum ever goes down.
There are also tools to help do this task, such as embedding forum posts in the wiki

Try it out, if there are roadblocks that are unnecessarily difficult or confusing I can see if they can be addressed. That way it makes it easier for future contributors

I just think at least 50% of the people here have binocular vision problems triggered by very different factors (devices, software, drivers etc) which can be caused by a range of different issues which are difficult to figure out and to fix.
However most of them can work obviously on every monitor with one eye covered, since it is quick and imperfect fix for every binocular vision problem.
So I would think that every new person in this forum should be aware of this fact.
I know that I don't have statistics about that, so maybe it is wrong, but I would think it would be so helpful to so many people posting here which are stuck in difficult situations and only try new drivers / devices / pvm settings etc…

I can add a wiki section for "effective solutions", with a list of solutions that have had a good response and then link to that page directly.
Then you would, for example, click on "Common Solutions" -> Navigate to "Cover eye". Then this page would include instructions for how to do it, why you would try it and a link to the relevant thread.
Do you have analytics on how much percent of the people click on the wiki in general and before posting?
I think it is too nested - not easy to discover, too many clicks, but in general I like that these infos are also there.
So I guess it is a good idea to have it there but I would also prefer that it would be on another more visible spot on the form.

I'm thinking the following for wiki visibility on mobile (i'll share desktop ideas in the future):
A two-tab tabbar ("forum", wiki") at the top of the screen (above the current always-visible topbar). To avoid wasting screen space (and to avoid it being a distraction), it would be visible only when scrollPositionY equals zero.
To look pretty, the tabbar would begin to "scroll into view" when the user's scrollPosY reaches zero, if you know what i mean. (I can try making a html mockup)
The tabbar could be horizontally centered for visual balance.
Please let me know how that sounds guys. An "active" wiki would be a great counterpart to this great forum.
Just realized that the wiki is already rather plentiful in info, that i had missed, as i hadn't thought its content would be "hidden" in the left tripleline menu. Whoa!

I think also that it will by far help more people than specific other solutions, since it is a quick fix for all binocular issues which are caused by many different triggers which themselves need different and more complex fixes.
From my perspective it should be as present as the other two pinned posts, since even if it the worst solution for many people here, it is at least the most generic and easy to apply.
I would ask if it is only an binocular issue then, since you have no binocular vision at this point. I know that your covered eye can move roughly in that arena even when covered and it takes some time to get used to covering your eyes, but in generell you get positive results very quickly if you have binocular problems.
If you have problems with one eye in specific those can still be there even if one eye is covered.

And it is quite common on tech forums, not on this one though.
The logical connection is reversed in this case, it is light causing binocular vision problems, not vice versa.
Sure, if you have problems with one eye it can lead obviously to vision problems with both eyes. It is also easier to compensate monocular issues if you only use one eye. So I'm totally with you.
In case of monocular issues covering on eye as you outlined don't necessarily fix all your problems.
xelaos sure, and that is why i am highlighting this: symptoms are the same, problems with convergence. In my case they start immediately after phone usage and are not present before.
This is why it is important to distinguish these issues, both are with binocular vision but when the reason is some dangerous light, pushing through the pain might be dangerous to retina.
