Getting the exact same laptop on eBay -- what to ask?

My only working setup is a Lenovo T430s currently running Windows 10 1909 (OS Build 18363.1666). It has Intel HD Graphics 4000 with driver version 10.18.10.4358 and also NVIDIA NVS 5200M with driver version 23.21.13.8908.

I'm looking to purchase an equivalent backup.

The panel is "LCD 1600x900" with Hardware ID MONITOR\LEN40A1.

If I ask the eBay seller to verify the Hardware Id of the panel and confirm the same laptop model and install the same Windows version, in theory, would I get the same usable laptop?

Any other questions I should ask? Or things I should lookup in Device Manager?

See if you can find a "manufactured date" on yours, then try and find an identical model number as close to that manufactured date as you can. That will give you the best chance of have identical components. But it is no guarantee. I purchased a Thinkpad T60p, identical model number, manufactured in the same month as the one I had, and the screen was from a different supplier and caused issues.

Thanks ensete. Would the screen difference be shown on the "Hardware ID" for the internal panel?

Possibly. There's no way to know. Since no one knows the exact component or what it is about that component that is causing the issue, you just need to do the best you can and roll the dice.
