  • Problem getting a new tv that doesn’t cause headaches, any ideas?

Hi there

I had never had any issues with screens or eyestrain until purchasing a new tv recently. I bought the LG C1 oled tv which is when the problem began. Initially it was fine for a day or two, then I noticed I couldn’t quite focus on the screen properly and was getting eye strain and then the main problem became getting headaches across my forehead above the eyes. I tried to get used to it and went to the opticians but no problems with my vision, so after a couple of months with no progress I sold it, assuming it was the oled screen that was the problem even though my iPhone 12 has an oled screen and is fine. I tried the Samsung neo qled with mini led which was maybe slightly better but still caused headaches, and then a Sony led tv with no pwm but that also caused headaches. After the LG tv the only problem seems to be getting these headaches not really noticeable eye strain/difficulty focusing.

Phones, tablets, laptops etc don’t cause any issues and older TVs that I have used at friends/family, including 4K hdr ones that are a few years old all seem fine. Has anyone else had similar issues or any ideas what might have changed in the tech to cause this, or any suggestions of a tv that might be worth trying?

Thanks!

Ben

    bennyboy1 Hi Ben! Welcome!
I do not know much about TV but I've tried to collect all the possible known problems in one thread, you can start from this post and scroll through the thread. I would start by checking cables and your source of video signal if your TV is connected somewhere.
