  • I think the PlayStation 5 console's lightbar uses PWM - can anyone confirm?

Found myself suffering the very specific effects I've suffered in the past from PWM devices (anxiety, headache, eye strain, etc.) when trying to use the PlayStation 5 a couple of times now. I've tried having the console on without the TV screen, and I seem to have narrowed the effects down to the glowing white LED of the console lightbar.

Is anyone able to test this and confirm? Thanks!

I don't have a PS5, but I found the PS4 controller's LED uses PWM even at full brightness and cannot be turned off. Seeing such terrible design decisions, I'd not be surprised if the PS5 uses PWM as well. You can test it with the methods discussed here: https://ledstrain.org/d/312-homemade-oscilloscope-to-detect-pwm-diy-guide.
It have covered the lights on the console and on the controllers with black isolation tape.
