Slacor Very cool I've been working on my own fork of a Python based forum software for the past while but the UI doesn't compare to Flarum, lol. Been kind of a personal project of mine. It's main use case is for private forum functionality with mandatory two factor, custom authentication library to authenticate forum users with other services, etc. I really need to learn more JavaScript but I hate it so much 😛

Given the learning that colors and color profiles seem to be involved in triggering symptoms, please do mot change the UI. Were any color changes made with this upgrade?

ensete Were any color changes made with this upgrade? It was completed several months ago so nothing recent has changed. I also don't believe there were any color changes during that one either.

Apologies for the down-time. Attempted to upgrade to 0.1.0-beta.8. There were far too many issues with it so I'm going to postpone it.

Upgrade to v0.1.0-beta.8 is planned (again) sometime during Wednesday - 1/16 . The forum will be down during that time.

One problem still persists on my Android smartphone, using Chrome: I push reply, then the "x" symbol. The post draft appears at the bottom but is not responding anymore. This happened on the old forum software, too. I think it started just a few days ago. Edit: The chat button which overlaps at the bottom might be responsible?

KM I'm using Firefox on Linux now and I'm not having that issue.
Can you try refreshing / hard refreshing?

When I introduce changes there will be a short window where that error will show up but it should go away after a few moments.

Websockets

When posts are made, they should show up immediately and not require page refreshes. This should apply to private chats as well.

Slacor We did, this replaces Pusher with a locally hosted one.
It should do what Pusher provided (like notifications) and work with private chats and tags (which Pusher didn't handle)
It also conveniently avoids:

Max concurrent connections with Pusher, as >100 is $49/m and we were at half that.
Adblock blocking connections to Pusher

After some investigation, this error occurs whenever I reload the server, which I'll do for

backups

It just means that cloudflare can't talk at that moment to my server. I've changed that max waiting period from 1.5 minutes to 30 seconds. So if this is just the temporary errors hopefully this will make it less annoying.

But if it's not coming up at all for the last several days feel free to message me on https://ledstrain.zulipchat.com or email me to make it easier to debug.

KM I made several other small changes for things that came up (like redirecting www.ledstrain.org -> ledstrain.org)

You can switch between the two with this button in the composer

Images also have a lightbox which should make images more visible on mobile

I will be upgrading soon to d81e0bb (we're at a1eefbe right now), and this comes with more "live" updating
If you have this enabled, people will be able to see when you are creating a new post.
You can disable others from seeing you create posts. You can find this setting at Profile -> Settings -> Privacy

The 3 dots are animated, so I'll be looking into disabling that or hiding it if you use media prefers-reduced-motion. Once I figure that out I'll update this site 🚧
