Clokwork What is it that is inherent about OLEDs that could cause issue? My iphone X is OLED is not problematic (pre ios 14.7). I do know that LG OLED panels are panful. Is this form of flicker due to rapid on/off characteristic of OLED? I know they are self-emissive, but I thought Plasma was too, but I have no issues with my plasma TV.
Seagull Plasmas are self emissive, but a 60hz plasma will refresh as 480-600hz to prevent flickering. On a practical level, this means an OLED will flicker at 60hz, but a plasma will flicker at 480hz+ Plasmas also do not use polarised light but OLEDs do.
Clokwork Seagull Ahhh ok thanks. I wish a boutique company would sell Plasma TV's again. I would transfer my bank account right now.
ryans Clokwork You can probably find used ones on eBay? Even if they don't have a long life left, just buy a few.
Clokwork ryans I often look, but the good ones are quite expensive for their conditions. I will end up buying one anyways and stashing it like you said. I guess I've been spending too much time looking for the unicorn sets with lower hours and good physical conditions.
