No dithering on Laptop PWM LED screens? Only on PWM free screens?

With 120FPS high speed camera on phone with lens attached to magnify the individual pixels, I tested LED screen of old laptops with various windows from Win7 to Win10.

I was amazed to find out that those screens that have horrible PWM, do not have dithering. PWM free screens have dithering. Anyone else can confirm this?

It really depends.. my desktop monitor is both PWM and has FRC dithering. They are not exclusionary.

I have not confirmed this technically, but my eyes have confirmed this numerous times. Most old laptops with horrible PWM are completely eye strain free at 100% brightness when they do not have PWM.

I have not found a PWM free laptop that would not get my eyes bloodshot.
