Hello everyone. On this forum and on the similar rest we used to think that if we have some eyes problem with software - it is defenetly temporal dithering. I mean, if we have "good" screen and it is good with one input source and bad with another(for example: good with windows laptot - bad with macbook. good with old windows - bad with new e.t.c) we usually say that bad input source has "Temporal Dithering". Many people try to fight with it on mac, on linux and think that if they turn it off, theit problem with eyes will be solved.
Unfortunatelly, i can proove that there are some others reason except TD, that could be reasons of your eye pain, headache and others sypthoms.
Recently, i started to have pain with new versions of Windows(even if i plug it into "good" monitor). I wrote about it here . I supposed, that TD is the reason. I wanted to try to turn off TD with famous software https://kawamoto.no-ip.org/henteko/myapp_en.html. I have laptop with intel graphics adapter so, this software could help.
And it really helped me to turned off dithering. I check it with this image(there were bandings) and some other checks:
So, dithering was defently turned off, but my sympthoms left. It seemed that they slightly decreased but i am not sure. After few days i had strong hedache, nausea and other similar sympthoms. Turning dithering off did not help. It sad to admit, but maybe our tryings to turn dithering off on mac and linux will not help kill eyestrain, even if they will be successful/
It would be interesting to know which else software reasons of eyesstrain do you know? And maybe you know the ways to figure out with them.
