And for people who did get cured of this affliction…did it go away on its on with breaks or only after using certain eye drops or glasses…and did a condition like astigmatism cause it for you? mine was also partly caused by a mild astigmatism..my eyes were basically ruined and strained by a particular laptop months ago, i strained my eyes so much that I'm experiencing dry eye and veiny eyes and focus problems with normal activities that don't involve screens..just to sum it up..

My own experience is that as long as I try my best to avoid lights and screens which I'm susceptible to that I can manage to use these for a few minutes without experiencing issues for example when using an ATM etc. but the issue persists even back when I was still able to use a BenQ Eye-care monitor for several years.

ZenXLaika I'm wondering if you have allergies. One way you could experiment without testing would be to try an antihistamine one time like reactine and see how you do. If better, it might be a clue. Anxiety will also cause those symptoms as well (and yes, it can be triggered from a physical cause too), maybe try some CBD oil if legal in your country and see if being more relaxed helps.

seeker_of_no_light same, i can look at screens after a good night's sleep but no more than 1 hour, on my part it's not only screens, I have become light sensitive myself, it's like my vision or one of my eyes can't focus on activities like reading or drawing anymore and its causing me to feel disoriented…and giving me headaches etc..it feels like a combination of ledstrain, dry eye and astigmatism eyestrain probably..because certain screens make my eyes more irritated.

Sunspark It's definitely not an allergy, the only thing I suffer from is dust allergies etc, never experienced allergies in eyes, I only started experiencing this after a binge session on a particular laptop, the binge session went on for days (overnight) without any long breaks and when I wasn't looking at the screen, it triggered when one day I was making a drawing, adding details etc.

I ceased drawing, when I experienced slight dizziness, like my eyes couldn't focus properly and after that experience I was confused when phone/pc screens were giving me severe irritated dry eyes...I think my eyes gave up at that point, because I was pushing them to the limit..It seems to me that i have strained my eyes so much that I developed dry eye and a chronic computer related eyestrain..I also have a mild astigmatism which makes you more prone to eyestrain..
