My experience has been that TVs are better until I try to use them as a monitor. I think that when I am watching video I am not focusing as hard, or on a specific part of the monitor, which I suspect makes it less of a problem. Reading text on this monitor I can see every pixel, but when watching video I'd never be focusing that hard.
On the positive side though, TVs tend to use VA LCD panels, which aren't as common in pc monitors. Could be you cope better with VA. I have also wonder if the lower pixel density / larger pixels in TVs could affect things like motion blur / flicker / LCD inversion.
