  • Has anyone tried changing the color bit depth of there system from 24 to 18?

This in theory would eliminate dithering on most modern monitors I imagine. This may be why windows 7 works so well for individuals. Its not having to falsely create those colors through the tickery of dithering.

I had a true 8 bit monitor. It was Samsung brand, not sure the type of panel, but it was when my lighting was bad and I was still using nvidia drivers that caused strain.

I am trying to set my system to 18 bit color depth today and see how it goes.

Edit: typing to fast, meant to use their in the title, not there

I am considering getting a 5k monitor but only using the resolution of 1920x1080. Lowering the resolution on my current monitor definetely helps

Wrightpt1 Wouldn't that cause interpolation causing blurriness?

I am at 1440 x 990, 16:10 now and its is not blurry but they system does not like it. it takes a second for typing to appear but it is a lot less straining for me for the most part.

I've gone down to 8 bit. Doesn't help anything.

finally found this in AMD settings. I think this came in the update from this past Sunday. Seems to help me a bit.

Still prefer AMD over intel graphics but barely.
