So how would you know if your screen is too bright?
Raise your hand to about the level of your eyes. Make sure your in a ambiently lit dark room. Use the browser to turn your screen mostly white. Look at the strength of the light that's shining onto your hand from your screen. If you can clearly see that the light reflected off from your hand is from your screen then your screen is way too bright. If you can barely see that it's reflected from your screen, it's still a bit too bright. If the lights reflected off the walls of your dark room that then shines onto your hand is the only light source you can see on your hand, then your screen is at the right level of brightness. For most non-apple screens, that brightness is at 0 plus a brightness slider app to lower it further, plus flux at 2700k. I would also avoid looking at white parts of the screen at all times, use the dark reader for browser reading. Is there something similar to the dark reader for microsoft word/excel? I would need that if I did office jobs but luckily I use logic pro x for work which has a dark interface.
