There are numerous different issues at play for people here, but this was rather interesting. As I talked about in the other thread, having reflections and overlays helps my eyes actually focus on the text. At times it seems like the eyes doesn't gauge the distance to what should be focused on. I've noticed that there is less strain when the monitor is next to an angled wall as well. Maybe anything that gives the eyes an easy way to gauge the distance is helpful. If that theories hold then a totally frameless monitor floating in space would be horrible.
If you experience text moving around, being hard to focus on, or the colors breaking up. Next time it happens stick a Post-it next to it and see what happens. Interested in if others have the same type of effect.
