I have known about PWM sensitivity for years but thankfully I did not have an issue with it. My previous two phones have been with OLED screens and I never have a problem. Mi10 and Realme X. I have been on OLED screen phones for 6years now and have screen time of 5hours plus daily.
For my laptop, I need to use it Monday to Friday for work for like 8hours. My last laptop was ROG GL503GE. I sold it and bought the M2 Air two months back. First month I have 0 problems. One month later, I start having burning sensation in eyes and dry eyes. 90% of the time it's in the left eyes and sometimes its also the right eye that is effected.
So, all of this has been happening for 4 weeks. 1week back I got my eyes checked and there was a minor increase in power and cylindrical power was added to my left eye (the one that was having these issues). So, I got my new glasses a week back and there has been no difference or improvement. I am on wait and watch mode but what I am actually noticing is that I am much better on Saturdays and Sundays (the time I am not using the laptop). But I still use the phone. In this cruel world, I don't also have the means to not use the laptop for a week and find out if it effects me or not.
This makes me think that the laptop might be the culprit. But I also wonder if the laptop is the culprit why I did not have issues for the first month. One thing that is common here is that none of my OLED phones have 10bit panels i.e no dithering. I am not sure if my Asus ROG GL503GE laptop had FRC or not but I don't think so. Dithering could be the issue but it could also be something with my eyes.
I am truly sad and don't have the resources to buy and sell devices. Let's see what happens. If anyone can find out if ASUS GL503GE had dithering, I would be grateful. Also screw Apple.
