Hello, I have noticed that old CCFL desktop monitors do not dither but modern LED monitors do.

EDID - Extended Display Identification Data

So I'm looking for a way to make LED monitor report itself as CCFL. Any help appreaciated.

This should be possible with monitor firmware hacking or windows driver hacking for a given monitor, this would be universal regarding GPU

smilem changed the title to edid hack led monitor as ccfl .

It's not true that CCFL monitors do not dither. If you have a 6-bit panel, then they will use FRC.

That said, if connected using HDMI and on Intel try using YCbCr 4:4:4 instead of RGB and IT Content off in the graphic driver settings (can be left off in RGB as well, is not related to dithering and is not a useful feature). I do notice a difference between the RGB and YCbCR presentation on this CCFL.
