Any difference with VA panels vs Viewsonic MVA and does 6-bit + FRC matter?

A lot of people say they experience less strain with VA panels, I'm guessing it's because of the higher contrast than anything else. I've seen some comment on Viewsonic panels which Viewsonic calls MVA but are these actually any different from regular VA panels because I've seen 0 info online to confirm that.

One other thing I notice is that most VA panels are 6-bit colour depth + FRC whereas a select number are 8-bit colour depth (though even this is dubious, example: the Viewsonic VX2267-MHD is listed as 6-bit + FRC on displayspecifications.com but Viewsonic's fact sheet says it's 8-bit). Does 6 bit + FRC matter or should you try and stick to 8-bit?

If you have a choice, always true 8-bit or true 10-bit.

If you don't, then whatever works.

Yeah for VA panels, the only true 8-bit ones being sold in my country and in stock look like they're from Viewsonic anyways.

And even with Viewsonic, there's sometimes conflicting info on the Amazon page vs what the spec sheet says vs displayspecs on whether it has FRC or not.

Elever Might not be easy for you to acquire, and I don't know about current models, but historically BenQ VA panels were native 8-bit.

Yeah, it's hard to tell.. and sometimes it is true 8-bit with FRC to make 10-bit.

Don't get hung up on VA. Good IPS panels are good (e.g. Samsung's version PLS).

I would like to try an OLED panel sometime.

No I checked, they're all out-of-stock, looks like it was a panel manufactured possibly by AU Optronics. The Viewsonic ones are the only ones I see and only certain models. For the 22" size, there's one I see but it's really overpriced, I might buy it later but it's a standard 1080p 22" 60hz monitor priced at above $200.

I did buy a more recent BenQ 24" VA 1080p which does have 6 bit + FRC but it's been okay, I wanted to try the higher contrast for movies too. I think 24" screens just in general cause me less strain so it's largely an issue with size for me and going up to 27" or more is a problem.
