gospaboy Rings very true with what I've experienced, I am currently working on a 15" MacBook Pro from 2019 running Catalina, with Radeon Pro Vega 20 4 GB Graphics card (happens to be plugged into a 10bit Eizo monitor) most crucially (I believe) it is running old firmware Bootrom 1037.147.4.0.0
I have another exact spec MBP here that happens to be on newer Firmware and that strains my eyes and strains them in a similar way to what I feel with Apple Silicon devices.
So just a word of warning that if you're anything like me you need to not update that comfortable device and be prepared to keep it up and running whilst potentially finding duplicates of it.
I have a guy who can downgrade Firmware on my other device and I'm going to run that as an experiment soon.
Btw also I don't think a monitor can help and madmozmadmozg I have a 10bit Eizo monitor here and one laptop gives me symptoms on it, one doesn't, exact same spec, exact same OS version,
