Donux yep, my inspection with the microscope also points out that the screen uses FRC.
Despite that, for me, it's one of the safest monitors ever. I could work from it even when my eyes were severely fatigued. (I worked from it for a few months so there were no long-term effects for me)
If there are no true 8-bit portable monitors, I'll consider ordering an Asus ZenScreen from Amazon. Just to try.
To be clear, I have 27 Asus desktop monitor that also use FRC. And I couldn't stand in front of it for more than a minute without eye pain
