24" 1080p TVs instead of 24" 1080p Monitors?

There are at least a couple 24" 1080p TVs on the market right now, same size/aspect ratio as the many 24" 1080p monitors on the market. I currently see the Vizio D24f-J09 & Insignia 24F202NA23 being sold in North America.

I can't find much on the Insignia but the Vizio according to DisplaySpecs is a true 8-bit VA panel without FRC.

Has anyone tried these? Are they using a different form of lighting for example than say a 24" VA panel?

Just to update on this, looks like they may be using PWM, the Vizio anyways based on a review though the review was for a larger sized variant of this model.

Most 24" monitors now do not use PWM.

Not exactly sure where I heard this, but I heard that at one point in time 1920x1200 monitors sold by the likes of EIZO and NEC were better than "consumer" 1080p monitors with inconsistent backlighting, FRC, etc.
