With the new chromecast google tv FHD running android 13 - the white one with the remote (have not tried the 4k) you can specify if HDR is enabled and set the color space / channel. (eg you can set HDR or SDR and all the variations of colour channel such as 8/10/12 bit color and RGB or the YPBPR channel etc)
I've found that if I enable HDR my screen gets brighter and causes headache symptoms, if I set to SDR it defaults to RGB and at 8bit it iss tolerable.
I assume set to HDR it changes the color space and enables more dithering as the TV is very likely a 6 or 8 bit panel with FRC
Television is a cheap 43 inch JVC LCD screen which I believe is IPS which has PWM unless at 100% brightness (so I have it to 100%) but as its quite dim (maybe 300 nits total if i had to guess) its very usable for me with a few other tweeks to picture (lower sharpness 2 or 3 points and lower colour level a bit)
Anyone else been able to test this?
