“Yes, pwm sufferer here. Switched my iPhone 12 to a “in-cell” lcd and no more headaches. Colors aren’t as good as before and maybe some extra lag but worth it for me. Have had the phone this way for a year now. Battery drain is pretty steep too, but the iPhone 12 battery is notorious. The Apple MagSafe clear case does a good job not hugging the screen, which now pops out a bit because lcd is thicker than oled.”

“Hi all. I just wanted to share this in case anyone would be interested in doing what I did to resolve my pwm sensitivity issue. I was sick and tired of my slow and laggy iPhone 11. I went out and got an iPhone 13 and replaced the screen with an LCD one. Super easy process. Coming from someone who had never replaced a screen before. Screen is crystal clear! No problems whatsoever (yet).”

Iphone 13 pro max “I’m amazed that when I looked at this phone with the OLED on it when it came in. I got a headache so bad within 10 minutes and eye spasms. Now I’ve been using it since Sat so 48 hours with the LCD and feel is like I’m using my 11 or 8 plus. No pain, headache or eye twitch at all.“

“I have tried this OLED replaced by LCD experiment on iPhone 12 and 12 pro max. Both do not bother my eyes any longer. I tweaked a few settings in Brightness and white point to make it work painless for eyes for hours of use.
However, this experiment comes with its own setbacks - phone gets heated quickly while using Internet and battery consumption of LCD seems more compared to OLED. My iphone 12 also reports incorrect clicks sometimes and needs to be carefully tapped .Hope this will be useful and best luck with your experiment on iPhone 13.”
