madmozg I have my macbook pro 15 2018 Intel, and I never had any issues with it
Yeah I've heard good things about that one from others on the forum, so that makes sense
madmozg Also I had before MBP 15 2015
For what it's worth, I do have a hunch that my 2015 15" rMBP doesn't have the original screen in it. (Even though whatever screen is in it I think is still a genuine Apple panel…)
It doesn't have any signs of staingate at all today, but it does have a LOT of glare, so I suspect that it was a newer panel installed after Apple's staingate recall/repair program. Probably with a much less effective antireflective coating too.
(I bought it used a few years ago)
However, my main problems with 2015 15" Retina MacBook Pro are still definitely temporal dithering related, I can notice so much intense dithering on this laptop especially on background colors, no backgrounds look solid to me and text looks like it's constantly moving.
This is in contrast to the 2015 12" MacBook which looks extremely still and stable in comparison, and is a generally comfortable laptop that I can get a lot of work done on (despite still having some "flickering on camera" issues)
Are you sure you had a 2015 15" (with AMD) and not a 2014 15" (with NVIDIA, known to be safer)?
