Just curious am I the only one who would consider buying one of these if they were to offer a reprogrammed model to be 6bit and not 6+2frc? On reddit they mentioned if they raise over 100k+ they'll offer an option.

I think it would be a very useful monitor if we can get no frc on it. It's a RLCD but with a optional backlight if I remember correctly. TLCD I guess you can say? It's different from their first monitor which basically is a transparent display. This is actually a RLCD monitor.

KM This may sound harsh, but I wonder what the problem of all those recent startups is, when so far all of them without exception obviously do not engage with the community before designing a prototype. They did not do their research properly if they release a product that has FRC.

While I haven't studied TCON or similar mechanisms in detail, if it's just reprogramming firmware of one of the display IC's, having to raise ~100k to supposedly do it strikes me as a cop out excuse to not doing the bare minimum.

This is something they should have done from the beginning. It shows they did not connect with the LED strain community before thinking about and designing their product.

It is great if there's someone trying to release a product for people that suffer from eye strain, but please, do not start such an undertaking blindly without even knowing what the possible problems are.
How can you offer a product if you don't know what the customers believe they need?

KM I 100% agree with you!
I mean the ones who buy it with FRC I'm sure are going to have problems right away, not a good idea for eazeye.

100% agree as well on the lack of engagement. Another problem is others have a hard time "believing" that such small scale variations in intensity can have significant effects whereas it is easier to make the connection to large scale flicker like backlight PWM.

JTL I agree. They shouldn't make an eye care display at all if it uses FRC. They told me it costs too much money to reprogram which is why they need to meet the higher goal price.
