Dell 9560 XPS 15 laptop (2017) great for eyes, but identical one hurting them

My eyes love my Dell 9560 XPS 15 laptop (2017). I bought an identical one off of ebay but it hurts my eyes. I checked the Dell service tag online which shows all of the components. It has the same exact screen. The new one had Windows 11 instead of 10 so I have installed 10 which improved things a bit. But it still isn't the same. The screen on the XPS from ebay is slightly darker and hurts my eyes. They have the same graphics card, NVIDIA GTX 1060 so I will install the drivers onto the ebay one next as I don't think it has them. Any other ideas of what I could try to get the ebay laptop screen the same as my main laptop would be much appreciated. Many thanks.

Check motherboards name, version ( in cpu-z )

Check motherboard BIOS version ( cpu-z )

Check 1060 BIOS version ( gpu-z )

Check HDD lifetime, compare it to understood laptop's screen lifetime difference ( CrystalDiskInfo )

Check panel used in screen ( hwinfo or aida )

If laptops are same, install same OS and drivers ( based on same software version of your safe laptop ), config them identically

There are hardware and software variables that are potential cause. There are a couple of things you could try:

Installing ditherig.exe and see if it makes a difference
Installing very specific windows 10 version and blocking all future updates, as there is an assumption after certain point it all started to go sideways.
And of course you could try linux. On the architecture side, linux is really poor desktop OS, but it works for some, not to mention various possible ways to inject code to disable dithering on linux.

BTW is this FHD or 4K ?

I believe the service tag only shows the part number of the parts? You should check in device manager for panel id to see if one is different. Bios version maybe could cause issues too?

jordan From what I remember there can be two types of the "different unit of the same model of product causing issues" phenomena.

1) Internal components being quietly swapped with different models, while the model number of the product is the same.

2) Per unit variance of the internal components, which can be explained by quality control (or lack thereof)

In the context of an integrated laptop LCD part of me wouldn't be surprised if the model number of an LCD could be programmed to be the same as another by the manufacture. Further contributing to this madness.

Did you read the post? They already said "it has the same exact screen" which I'm pretty sure means they checked and found that it has the same panel

Same equipment keeping same software not allow you to give eye-strain, thats why best way to chech and compare panels and their lifetime. Fyi panel's ID decode differently according to software match list

They said one screen is darker than the other. That's a physical difference.
