Hi everyone,

I’m new here, so apologies if I’m not posting this correctly.

I’m sensitive to PWM and had a bad experience with the iPhone 12 mini, which I had to return after a few days because it made my eyes feel very uncomfortable. Now, I’m considering getting an OLED TV since they are often marked as flicker-free. I’ve narrowed it down to the LG C3 and Samsung S90C (both are recent unboxed deals at good prices).

I checked them out in a store, and while they did affect my eyes slightly, it was much better than the iPhone experience. I wouldn't describe it as pain or intense strain, but rather as a strange and abnormal feeling of tiredness after just 15 minutes of watching the pre-set marketing videos. My question is, could these TVs be easier on my eyes with some adjustments? I assume the store settings were cranked up for display purposes (contrast, brightness, etc.). I don’t have any eye issues aside from temporary dryness for which I will use artificial tears.

Has anyone else dealt with this, and do you have any advice? Is it possible to get used to the display after a few days? I know this is individual, but I’d love to hear your thoughts.

Thanks a lot for your time!

crusheraaa If you feel that it hurts your eyes, it is better not to force yourself to get used to the TV, because it is worse in the long term, you will become more sensitive to light flickering, in addition to the fact that OLED is very bad for the eyes and is not flicker free, in fact it flickers very slowly and that is very bad for your eyes.

I was a bit too optimistic and hoped everything would turn out perfectly with no issues for my eyes 😄
