iPhone 16 Pro eyestrain

I had the 13 pro before and didn’t have any issues.

I switched to the 16 pro and immediately felt eye strain. I was about to return it but decided to give it a few days to see if my eyes would adjust.

The Spigen tempered glass screen protector arrived the day after I got my 16 pro. I put it on and the eye strain immediately went away. Does anyone have an explanation for why the screen protector stopped my eye strain?

Applesexual Did you use a matte or privacy screen protector? Which exact screen protector did you choose?

Give us some more information please. Like what were your symptoms, how long you were testing iphone 16 Pro? Which symptoms you have after this glass protector installed, how long you are now with screen protector. Give us few photos of it maybe. Thanks

I'm not OP but if it helps, I tolerate the SE 2020 screen a bit better when I wear some sunglasses. I have no idea of sunglass make and such, it has a UV400 label so I imagine they may be polarized too… they only have a slight gradient tint so I do not think that is the reason.

But using double invert and per-app settings on iOS 17.6.1, some apps like Notes get a bit more comfortable (perhaps 30%)

Not something that makes a unusuable phone usuable but it helps a bit for me personally

I have an iPhone 13 Pro. I came from an 8 Plus which was LCD, and I thought I wasn't going to be able to tolerate the 13 Pro. But I use an Armor Shield (think of it as Skinomi Tech Armor reborn, even though it isn't the same company) and once that was on the phone, it's been absolutely fine. No problems at all.

So yes, the screen protector can make a world of difference.

I am debating getting a 16 Pro Max from AT&T (which I can return) and testing it out. Need to make sure it can go back if I hate it.
