High or Low Hertz Better?

I have a AOC monitor that can range from 60 to 180 hertz. At 60 it seems fine but at 120 it seems to give me a vestibular migraine. Is lower or higher hertz better and it takes time to adjust to 120?

If it is 100% flicker free that is stable and you turned off VRR everywhere, only the response time of your panel will matter. The panel you have is likely calibrated for a higher refresh rate. Lowering it may cause ghosting, artifacts, and/or terrible motion blurring.

FYI: 120Hz is the exact refresh rate intel graphics automatically turns on VRR.

I have an AOC (gaming) monitor as well which seems less comfortable at 120Hz than at 60Hz. It’s hard to describe the exact sensation, but the screen looks “busier” at 120Hz, like there’s something going on electrically that makes it less stable.
