Lenovo laptop IdeaPad Slim 5 Gen 9 16" 161MH9. (16/512 Just received this. Spent a day on it and do not feel sick. It has a Flicker Free Certificate.

However, it has a facial recognition feature which is an infrared lazer. You need a password to activate it. Should I be concerned that it may still emit a lazer into my eyes, even if not activated by password. Is this possible and would it cause damage to me eyes please?

mosala ,I personally have similar issue but with Apple Face Id technology.

Zodios My friends are laughing at me, but I have found several people who think the same. How can we be sure it is not still trying to connect without the password. Let's hope someone can reassure us.

Yeah I did think of that, but figured that the lazer, being strong, would still go through that! :/ Am I being paranoid?

mosala honestly really possible it can go through tape consider things like red light therapy can penetrate into tissue. lasers usually are stronger too.

Yes, no problem with feeling sick or anything, so thumbs up for the flicker free thing. I am gonna send it back though because of the IR Sensor is always on. I tried to uninstall it, but it won't do so. If the sensor does not bother you then this laptop maybe worth a try for you.
