Hey,

After some research my conclusion is eyestrain may be due to output dynamic range.

Have 3 days rest of computer
then go in NVIDIA control panel> Change resolution > output dynamic range > Limited.

The white will be less painfull.

Tells me if it works for you two.

When Limited, it activate Dithering

You can check in ColorControl after switching output Full/Limited

For me personally (with Full range monitor), that didnt worked. Yes, white become gray. Yes, you can disable dithering in Limited via ColorControl. But overall, in "safe" builds I use Full without problems (with Full monitor), and Full/Limited doesnt matter for "bad" devices

My case for a the joy of the data:

Igpu AMD/win10 I can stay all day on my personal IPS screen.

4090/win11 I found it better with limited range of color input. But not perfect. If I spend 6hours it takes 2-3day for this strange feeling to recover.

Same I got with rtx3080 and 3080ti

But I used w10 1809 which is way more less strain than newer versions

I suppose, rtx20+ change internal smoothing type to temporal. We can control grapfic card output dithering via ColorControl etc, but we can not adjust internal pipe stages
