I don't want to sound unfounded, but I've heard that older NVidia graphics cards flashed with newer BIOS versions are less comfortable to use. However, I have no evidence to support this.

I got not same but close: gtx1060 with new (rtx30+ era) drivers not calm as with old

Oops! Sorry about that, I meant to reply to Dizzy in my previous post, but I must have accidentally clicked on your name instead. 🙂

WhisperingWind I appreciate all this knowledge sharing no matter where placed!

i recommend you to buy a used geforce gt 6 series like gtx 650 ti , gt 610 … it worked to me , zero eye strain

WhisperingWind I can confirm this. If @Dizzy has the "newer" 710 it is using Kepler 2.0 architectures. I purchased many of this type and they are not good. An original Quadro K600 or K420 is better.

brjdenis I believe that is it. Time to setup a return:

MSI Gaming GeForce GT 710 2GB GDRR3 64-bit HDCP Support DirectX 12 OpenGL 4.5 Single Fan Low Profile Graphics Card (GT 710 2GD3 LP)

Dizzy Yes, according to https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/msi-gt-710-low-profile-2-gb.b4101, this is using the Kepler 2.0 architecture. Tried many of those, didn't work for my eyes. My suggestion would be to go with Quadro K420. It is using the Kepler architecture and it works best for my eyes (and Windows 7) and is also a low profile card. A Fermi architecture card also is good (Quadro 600 for example), but I found them to heat up a lot and causing fan noise.

Which OS are you using, Windows 10, 11…?
