So it seems my story is similar to many others, after my old TN that was bearable died I've went on a quest to find a replacement. After trying about 8 IPS and VA monitors a thought popped to my head - that my work Lenovo Thinkpad was actually very easy on my eyes so I went to a store with monitors on display to actually look at them, I've found one Lenovo - not to my preferred spec but it definitely felt much better than all the others they had.

So after looking around I decided to buy Lenovo Legion Y27qf-30 a 1440p 240hz IPS monitor (although I do use it on 100/120hz as 240hz is uncomfortable for me) but the moment I dragged down the contrast, saturation and brightness (like usual) it was much better than any other monitor I've tried. I can easily sit through night shifts, and have even 15 hour sessions with it, even though sometimes for reasons unknown to me it still causes stronger strain it is MUCH MUCH MUCH better, no dizziness, no swirl in stomach (idk how to say that in english).

Of course it's not perfect, a lot of hard\ eye focus like on a crosshair when I'm gaming or when doing a lot of reading will still hurt but not nearly as much as on any other monitor and there will be no migraine.

I've come to the conclusion that all of the certificates are just marketing but there is something in Lenovo Eye Safe 2.0 marking. If you havent tried Lenovo monitors, please do.

One thing worth adding that may sound silly is that I keep the monitor dusty as the dust blocks reflections (with already great reflection handling) and gives even better results.

Could you try it in 60hz mode? Should be much easier for eyes

simplex I feel like it is but 60hz is just too low to enjoy.. 100 / 120hz is the sweet spot in which the eye strain is quite low but its still smooth enough
