Anyone try the Minimal Phone?

We are seeing info about the Light Phone 3 trickle out. Is anyone ordering/pre-ordering the Minimal Phone? I keep checking back on their website every few days just to stare at the pre-order button. I like the idea of this phone as a second phone to my ever aging iPhone Xs. best of both worlds (for now). A good fast color screen for apps still supported such as YouTube and some games. A secondary comfortable e-paper screen for the apps no longer supported on the iPhone along with an up to date browser.

Oh my god. A physical keyboard. I never thought I would see one again in my life. And a phone that isn't the size of a goddamn roofing tile.

I had the onyx one but sold it since I have a pebble color one that is shipping soon that I preordered(bought the onyx on ebay). When I was using the onyx one my only gripe was the screen isnt as smooth as the hibreak pro but it was very responsive! The one thing that bugs me on the hbp is the annoying input latency. The minimal phone also is much brighter and easier to light up compared to the hbp. I also like how the mp has a 3.5mm headphone jack which I ended up using a lot with the apple wired earpods. The keyboard took me a lil to get use to but as I was using it I was getting faster and faster. I feel like physical keyboard is the best for eink unless a device is similar in speed to the dasung 078 eink tablet which was VERY fast, and typing was nice.. I hope the mudita kompakt will have similar speed (I also preordered this eink phone) - I will have to decide between the pebble minimal phone and the mudita when I get them.

Btw there was some bugs when I had the MP which were lines on the screen on anything dark, front light wouldnt fully turn off and keyboard alt key for numbers wouldnt always work but I heard a recent update fixed those issues

I was one of the original backers on IndieGoGo and I received my Minimal Phone about two months ago. Have been using it ever since. Its wonderful. Much more useful than I thought. A mental releief to get off the iPhone (I dont mind distractions, I do mind the eye problems). A few bugs, sure, and you wont be watching youtube on it, but thats the whole point pf it. You can use all the normal apps etc, but everything is ofcourse slower and more cumbersome. I am also using a remarkable 2 e-ink tablet for all my reading and writing (thats what I do for work) since starting to have trouble with all things Apple, so I’m used to the limitations of e-ink (or e-paper or whatever you call it based on who makes it).
