Other regular people don’t seem to have any issues with lights or to be sensitive to flickering and similar things. But for me, and for others on this forum, it’s a completely different story.
Some get a simple headache, while others, like me, can’t stay in a room with flickering lights for too long without feeling unwell. It’s hard to describe, but it feels like a kind of derealization, or as if your mind is overloaded and you just want to shut down. The same thing happens with video games, which is why I never play them.
Since these are visual stimuli that enter our body and cause adverse reactions, I’ve started to wonder if the same could apply to other senses, like hearing, for example. I do some music post-production, and I’ve noticed that sometimes I get similar reactions from certain audio effects, like echo or reverb. I'm also highly sensistive to "electronic sounds"
So it made me ask myself: maybe some of us just have a brain, or some other system, that’s too reactive to these signals. And if that’s the case, are there any tests to detect this? Are there any treatments to help fix it? Or any special hardware we could wear, or any other thing?
