I know this is not really any kind of fix but why not just deal with it for what you love? You can just strain your eyes a bit with some photography worst case and then rest them for a bit after?
I use things all the time that give me headaches and eye strain I just deal. There's not much else you can do. But I think dealing with it is better than complete avoidance. As far as I can tell there's no real long term ramifications. I suppose constant headaches slightly ups the risk of stroke but not by much and I doubt straining your eyes for a small amount of time is going to have any real problems long term. Though I suppose we don't know the long term affects of our problems as it has been too short of time with recent issues.
What I'm saying is don't get anxious about using things and only completely avoid things that are very bad instant triggers for you. If you get something you can't use at all just sell it, I know it'll be at a loss but that's the reality we have to live unfortunately
Why not go into stores and ask to use phones or cameras for a bit and see what causes you the least issues?
