There is a 10yo, ongoing, 170 or so page thread in the Apple forums about this very issue. I believe the creators of this forum have posted in it a lot. There has been no real explanation or solution in all that time so I have no hope there will be one anytime soon if ever. I've gotten excited several times seeing someone claim avoiding PWM, changing a driver, altering font rendering etc solved things for them but mostly people just keep suffering and reduce their use and quality of life by sticking to massively outdated CCFL displays or buying absurdly priced and limited function E-Ink displays. The manufacturers don't care. Most users don't care as they aren't effected. Employers don't care anymore than the law makes them.
