I'm begging you. Before you give your Switch Pro takes. Please look at the pixel density of 720p at 7 inches. It's 209 pixels per inch, which is equivalent to a Retina display if you hold it 16 inches away from your face, which you almost certainly do if you are an adult.

It does seem like a huge benefit for a smartphone to have a lower resolution, like 720p, because it is much easier to drive, and therefore battery life is quite a bit superior.
Elsewhere we read:
It makes no sense to me that my P8P 6,7" phone screen has a lot higher resolution than my 27" monitor.
Why do phone manufacturers keep doing this seemingly stupid thing? They could have way lower resolution and you would still not be able to tell apart individual pixels on the screen.
The pros of lower resolution screens are:
Way better gaming performance.
Better battery life.
Cheaper manufacturing.
Cheaper repairs and replacement screens in case yours breaks.
Even if you want to lower the resolution through software to get better performance and battery life your screen will look more blurry than it would to have a screen with the lower resolution as native.
After hearing me out, would you prefer if phones had lower resolution screens?

This. I have a 2k monitor and I am considering downgrading it to a 1080p one. It only looks better for a short while and then you forget about the difference unless you have the screens side by side. You'll only be left wishing you had more frames per second. I have an RTX2080super btw.
