I'm kinda hopeful because there are at least a couple of safe Android-based devices for me. Free from the OS build number and drivers version bullshit that seems to ruin the Windows experience. Also free from the permanently eye-straining Linux core. If they manage to recreate the phone-like experience, albeit slower in specs, I'm all-in for it. Of course, a VM functionality inside would be a huge plus that could serve as a proxy to any other OS.

Yeah, and right into the "Google pushing updates to your OS and all your apps practically daily, including system and driver updates, with no ability to roll back, any of which could turn a good system unusable"

If you think android is going to b our savior you are kidding yourself. Google is a horrible software dev shop that pushes out slop code and updates it daily, sometimes multiple times a day, and doesn't give a damn about user feedback.

And yet there have always been safe Android phones irrespective of OS version or build throughout the years. Unlike iPhone. Also, I don't have problems using Android tablets. At least two models I used.

Android PCs are going to be equipped with Qualcomm's ARM processors. For better or worse, video rendering will be different from Intel, AMD and Nvidia.

They said they would be using ChroneOS UX on top of Android (not the other way around). If I now have safe Android devices and a couple of safe monitors, why shouldn't I expect something similar in a PC form factor?
