I'd also be concerned if the CCFL monitor in question has had the tubes degrade (it's with a finite lifespan), has PWM (can still be an issue, especially of latter models) and/or dithering. I don't think CCFLs monitors have been manufactured in over 10 years at this point and past reviewers were less diligent about checking for such issues.

JTL Well old tubes means not as bright and if you crank them up all the way the pwm goes away. I just think the CCFL is the lesser evil compared to LED. Miripump wrote something here very interesting about CCFL and LED. I know they are old but I mean if they work and less damaging to the eyes I say its worth it (atleast to me). Miripump said he has a stockpile of the aw2310.

erwintol1999 I would assume because it works very well for him and that its not something you can buy new anymore so he probably buys all the used ones he finds.

In theory, CCFL tubes should be replaceable if they are in a generic form factor. There appear to be current sources for purchase out there, and there are a few videos on YouTube showing successful replacements. However, this is not something I have ever attempted myself. I do recall CCFL monitors feeling easy on the eyes, though.
