Seagull I've just replaced a failed fluorescent tube light bulb in my kitchen, and the new one is flickering! Is this normal for a new fluorescent, or is it just a poor quality bulb? the old one was fine before it died.
Soreeyes If it's flickering it's bad. Either just a cheap bad light or you ended up with a bunk one by chance. Usually fluorescent start flickering when they're on their way out but now and then you just get god awful ones that flicker always.
Sunspark Failing ballasts can flicker too.. especially magnetic ballasts. Easy to test though.. if you still have the flicker with another tube, it's the ballast.
