"I had eye discomfort and mild headaches with a Sept 2024 manufactured 16 pro, it lasted over a month which is not typical.
Fortuitously it turns out, I had to do a screen replacement 5 months later due to screen flickering issues (under warranty) and since then the new display has been great—discomfort is gone.
So with my data point of 1 person, there seems to have been something wrong with the first screen.
I will also say I am mildly PWM sensitive. Whenever I get a new iPhone it takes about 2 weeks to get adjusted to it."

What do you make of this? How many phone are in the wild with something wrong with their screens based on poor quality control during manufacturing? Could be a considerable number?
I know as soon as I saw the Sonim XP Pro screen I felt a sense of relief. Before that point, I thought Moto LCDs were as good as phone screens get. The XP Pro screen doesn't try to be a fancy consumer product. Could be using older manufacturing methods resulting in better quality control and more comfortable viewing?
I thought perhaps the factory-installed plastic screen protector was somewhat to credit for the wonderful comfort, so I was reluctant to take it off. However, I took it off, and the comfort remained exactly the same.
