The HBP has been very popular (within the non-Kindle eink market). So Hibreak screen break posts are more common than the vast majority of lower selling eink devices.
Like all e-ink devices it still has a much more fragile panel than conventional devices. Also, pocket devices taken everywhere have a much harder life than most conventional ereaders.
I've used mine a few hours a day for 9 months and it's in good condition, despite being dropped a few times from over 4ft including onto concrete.
In comparison my Palma lasted 2 months and died while charging. The proportion of Palma screen break posts used to be extremely high (I don't follow the Boox reddit anymore).
There's posts about Mudita Kompact broken screens too. But not as many as they've sold in much lower numbers.
The only pocket eink devices with a significantly better chassis than the others were Hisense. But they've not been made for years, and the BHP is a better all-round device than their old flagship (the A9).
Also the direct support from Chinese eink device brands is universally terrible - Bigme aren't an outlier in this group. They're at a similar level to Boox, Dasung etc. But there's also terrible customer service stories from non-Chinese brands too (like Minimal).
