UPDATE
After a long correspondence on this topic, we came to this conclusion with Nvidia support - they don’t know 🙂
Hello,
Thank you for the detailed update and for explaining everything you’ve tried. We understand how frustrating this situation is, especially since the symptoms appear immediately and disappear when you switch back to other GPUs.
Based on your testing, this does not appear to be a system, driver setting, or monitor configuration issue. You’ve already ruled out the common causes (VRR, G-SYNC, HDR, refresh rate, color depth, cables, and different monitors). Unfortunately, there is no driver option or firmware setting that can fully disable all internal display processing on RTX 4090 or RTX 5080.
Because of this, we’re unable to recommend a specific RTX 50-series model that would guarantee a different experience. The behavior you’re noticing is related to how these GPU generations handle the display pipeline, and it cannot be fully changed through software.
At this point, the most reliable option is to continue using GPU models that you’ve confirmed are comfortable for you (such as the RTX 4060 or RTX 4070 Ti).
We understand this isn’t the answer you were hoping for, but there are no further supported troubleshooting steps that would fully resolve this behavior.
Please let us know if you need any additional assistance.
Best regards,
Adnan
