Hi everyone,
I’m looking for some insight into a very specific physical reaction I have when using my gaming PC.
I completely stopped using my gaming PC for one month. During this time, I only used my smartphone, tablet, and an Android TV box. I had zero symptoms during this entire month.
Yesterday, I turned my PC back on for the first time. I updated Steam and started playing Dead by Daylight. Within a short time, I began experiencing frequent burping/eructation. This morning, I even woke up with a stomach ache.
No Headaches/Eye Strain: Surprisingly, I don’t get migraines or blurry vision. The reaction is purely gastrointestinal.
This only happens with the PC. My tablet, phone, and TV (Android Box) cause no issues at all.
I am already using ColorControl to try and disable dithering, but the symptoms returned regardless.
My Build:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5700X3D
GPU: NVIDIA RTX 2080 Super
OS: Windows 10 (Version 1809)
MONITOR: HP X27i
Game: Dead by Daylight
I suspect this might be related to how the GPU renders motion, hidden temporal dithering, or perhaps a form of "silent" motion sickness where the brain triggers the vagus nerve (affecting the stomach) instead of causing a typical headache.
Has anyone else experienced stomach distress specifically from a PC/Monitor setup? Could it be related to my specific Windows version (1809) or an NVIDIA driver setting I’m missing?
I've also noticed audible electrical noise (EMI/coil whine) through my 3.5mm headphones connected to the B450 Tomahawk motherboard. This suggests potential grounding issues or interference from the GPU, which might be affecting the display signal stability and contributing to my physical distress.
Any advice or similar experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
